Private Health Fund Rebates - FAQS

Private Health Fund Rebates - FAQS

What you need to know

Your clients can claim for personal training sessions, classes or gym memberships that are being used to manage or treat existing health conditions. Note that a referral from a doctor or allied health professional may be required for these claims.
Requirements vary between health funds. Some health funds enable you to use your AUSactive member number as a provider number, however other funds may require a specific provider number. Please refer to participating health funds below for more information.

What your members or clients need to know

Having private health insurance does not guarantee refunds for fitness services. Rebates depend on the level of coverage provided by the member’s health fund. If your client has private health insurance, advise them to contact their fund to determine the requirements for claiming a rebate and to understand the level of rebate they may be eligible to receive.
